Gary Butcher has over 40 years’ construction experience worldwide.

He has more than 15 years’ experience engaged in major LNG Projects, inclusive LNG receiving and liquefaction, at Project locations in the U.S., Malaysia, Australia, and Egypt. He has followed “Grass Roots Projects” from the mobilization to the Project Site, site establishment including site preparation, through the construction period to “Mechanical Completion,” inclusive pre-commissioning, commissioning, “Ready for Startup” handover to and acceptance by the Owner/Client.

In addition, Gary has worked on petrochemical and fertilizer projects worldwide and the United States. His career started as a field engineer, field supervision, technical services management, Project Site Construction Management, Project Management and Owner’s Director of Construction overseeing the EPC Contractor working at Project sites.

He has taken part in home office “Constructability” reviews during the early design and engineering phase of the Project, while on temporary assignments in the engineering design offices before moving to the Project site. Gary has had the opportunity to take part in the preparation of EPC Project proposals while assigned to the EPC contractor’s main office for major petrochemical Projects. He has also written Contract Scopes of Work, prepared Contract documents and reviewed Contractor proposals.

Gary’s most recent experience includes work for an Egyptian-owned Client/Owner as Managing Director Construction for a “Grass Roots” Low Density Ammonium Nitrate (LDAN) project in Egypt before returning to the U.S. in May 2015 to take over Project Management for 3.0 billion USD Ammonia-Urea Project in Wever, Iowa.
