Overview

David has 15 years hands on experience in Civil Engineering and Construction. He is a very skilled Consultant Surveyor with experience spanning procurement through to conclusion of details final accounts. Bringing a highly professional approach to all his projects, he is highly regarded by clients due to his attention to detail and focus on end results.


His experience spans building, civils, energy, MOD and rail. Working on complex, large value tenders and a number of prestigious construction projects, he has gained valuable experience and understanding of a variety of construction processes and the consequential commercial impacts.

Selected Project Experience
  • Commercial representation for Main Contractor working on a £35m station fit-out project on the underground network in central London. In charge of procurement of Subcontract Packages, Overseeing the Change Control process, Overall Contract Administration and compilation and presentation of the monthly internal cost reports. Client representative at legal workshops on domestic and Client disputes.


  • Subcontract administration and assistance with Main Contract Administration for £250m C310 Thames Tunnel section of the prestigious Crossrail tunnelling Project in central London.


  • Procurement support for 2 stage tender for the York Potash Materials Transport System Tender value circa £1Bn. Responsible for compilation, issuing and analysing upon receipt Subcontract Packages for inclusion within the Final Bid Submission and additional support of certification for payment to various domestic consultants also employed on the Bid.


  • Procurement support for a major central London utilities project, value circa £600m.


  • Lead Quantity Surveyor for a sub-contractor on a £39m refurbishment project at Blackfriars Bridge in central London.


  • Contract Administration of the £61.5m Main Civils' Package let as a NEC Option C Trade Contract for the construction of a new 1,275 MW gas fired UK CHP power station. Subsequently employed as Contract Administrator for the Main Mechanical Package, value £21.5m, and a number of smaller value works packages.


  • Further roles included the review and resource analysis of an adjudication on the scaffolding package in the sum of £17.1m and the review and allocation of the entirety of the snagging works on the power station in readiness for final hand over which involved the administration of a Minor Civils Works package with a value of circa £6m.
